Resilient, Relevant, Radical - Modelling for the Future, 28 September,
John Hansard Gallery
11.00 am - 5.00pm followed by the Hansard's Anniversary Celebration at
6.00pm


As the broader policy landscape seemingly changes on a daily basis and the
detailed scale of cuts remains unknown this day will offer members the
opportunity to share solutions with peers, look forward to the future and
make sure that VAGA is informed and focused in the straitened times ahead,
whilst also celebrating the 30th Birthday of the John Hansard Gallery.

An opening presentation on the implications of local and regional
government changes by Simon Eden, Chief Executive & Leader Winchester
City Council and Chair, Culture and Sport Living Places Group,
Partnership for Urban South Hampshire (PUSH) will be followed by Margaret
Bolton, Mission, Models, Money Associate and author of forthcoming MMM
Capital Matters report on building financial resilience in the UK arts
and cultural sector, and Stephen Foster, Director John Hansard Gallery on
their current and future plans.

Breakout sessions led by Niru Ratnam, Curator, Writer and Director Aicon
Gallery, Holly Tebbutt, Independent Consultant and Researcher and Honor
Harger, Artist, Curator and Director, Lighthouse, Brighton will focus on
the themes Resilient, Relevant, Radical organisationally and curatorially.
Godfrey Worsdale, Director Baltic and VAGA Chair will chair the day.

Delegates are invited to attend the Hansard's evening celebration with
drinks and speeches, 6.00 - 7.30pm in the Gallery, followed by a
performance of Wlliam Walton's Facade, at 8.00pm in the Turner Sims
concert hall.

The day is free to members with a small charge on the day towards catering
costs.
