Hands-on demonstration of Beep Baseball for blind children
The San Antonio Jets Beep Baseball team will be hosting a clinic for blind children that are interested in learning about or playing beep baseball. The clinic will be on Saturday, March 3, at Rodriguez Park,6098 Jerome Rd, from 10 AM to 1 PM. We will have two groups, children 9 or under, and kids from 10 to 14 years-old.
Beep baseball is an adapted form of the traditional sport. It consists of a ball that is larger than a softball, which beeps consistently so players are able to hit it when pitched, and find it in the field. There are two bases rigged with a buzzing sound that are triggered when the ball is hit, so the runner knows which way to go.
