Hello everyone,
I am reaching out to the families of blind and low vision children who live in the Houston area and who may have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey. The National Federation of the Blind of Texas is offering some emergency funding to help blind Texans and their families as they begin the process of rebuilding their lives.
We can provide gift cards to major retailers, checks for emergency needs, and transportation vouchers (Lyft) for people who cannot access a vehicle to run errands that will be necessary as they gather supplies, groceries and more. If your family was impacted by the storm, or if you know a blind person or parents of blind children who were impacted, please feel free to call or email us and to share this information with anyone who can benefit from it.
Our office is open from 9 AM to 5 PM, weekdays, and I am also happy to share my cell number in case someone needs to call on the weekend. it is
979-583-6344.
We cannot possibly make families whole, but we are here to offer some emergency help that might get people up and running in the beginning. We want to help as much as possible. So, don't hesitate to call on us.
Best regards,
Norma Crosby, President
