HI Yaakov,

Can I get details of what you're after for the RT installation you've
discussed with Mark please?

Thanks, Ian,

If anyone else also wants to chime in please do. The basic premise is to have a place where requests can be made for specific marketing materials and where posts can be submitted for editorial review and posting. So there will be at least two lists. I think if we combine both a mailbox receipt to lists in RT with a page with a form that submits requests as well we can satisfy about 99% of all good usage. The web form shopuld give us better online/mobile usage to complement offline/email usage.

Thoughts?

FYI.. We already have a payments@perlfoundation queue hosted on rt.perl.org.

Rather than setting a brand new rt instance, why not just add a mark...@perlfoundation.org (or whatever) queue on the existing host?

Sure that's a specific queue and I have no problem if the requirements are just one queue.

We know rt.cpan.org very well, in fact Ian recently patched it and is one of the committers to it. However if the requirement is to add a bunch of functionality to make the list work in a much more interactive fashion then we may exceed the capabilities of the current install.

Hence the reason to spec out what we want/want to achieve first and then decide the route afterwards. I agree with you, if it is just a single queue to monitor then a single queue on an existing box works. If not then we have to look at either patching or unique install.

Either way we have to wait for what Ya'akov has conceived ;)

I am fairly certain that rt.cpan.org != rt.perl.org
