Hi Parents,

The youth group will be taking a trip to Knott's Berry Farm on
Saturday, December 1. I will be sending out an evite as soon as I
can, but before I can do that I need to determine what time we will
be returning. The park stays open until 10 pm. If we stay until the
park closes that would put us back at church around midnight. I am
concerned that may be too late for some of you, so I would like to
ask you all what time you would prefer we get back to church. I don't
want to make the kids leave the park any earlier than we have to, but
I also want to make sure as many kids as possible can make it. Please
email me back and let me know your preference and I will do my best
to make everyone happy. Once I have determined an end time I will
send out an evite with all the details.

Thanks,
Tobin

It is my understanding from a voicemail left by Tobin that 9 youth are planning to attend the event.  I do not know all the responses but most hope for an earlier return due to the BIG day on December 2 and many who will be participating in the day.  Once I know what the final plan is, I will be happy to copy all.

Also, tickets need to be purchased ahead of time and the checks/money need to be turned into Tobin or myself in order to purchase them.  Let me know if you plan to purchase a ticket in advance.

I didn't see any replies, but my two cents is that I'd rather they go earlier and come home earlier.    Arriving at the church at midnight means they don't get to bed (and neither do we) until 1:00 or so.  Sundays are pretty busy and to make it through, they need a little sleep.  I also think drivers coming home that late might get a little sleepy.  I vote for leaving the park earlier.

I would change the departure time to 8 am (we are never able to leave right when we say we are leaving and that also gives us some time if we hit traffic) and then I think we should leave the park at 8 pm (at least one parent wants us back by 10 pm and again that gives us some time if we end up running late and for traffic). Has anyone heard from Brandon and Cheryl, are they coming? Also, right now we don't have enough to get the group rate, we need at least 15, which means we are three short. If we do not get three more we could get the So Cal resident price which is $33.99 for 12 and up and $19.99 for under 12 and they require proof of residency in a zip code between 90000-93599.

All have appropriate permission forms returned to the church except Hunter and Morgan Heck.  Forms have been sent to Susan for completion and return to me by Friday of this week.  It is going to be a great trip and we want to be sure all families comply to the policies of TPCC.

Hi CJ,

That’s wonderful news.

The youth leaders for the Knott’s Berry Farm outing are Tobin, Lauren, and Calvin.  We are following the TPCC policy and within the 1:4 ratio of youth leader to middle schoolers.  Details of the policy can be found online on the church web site along with permission forms, http://www.torreypineschurch.org/wwa_links.asp.

Right, please meet at the church at 8:00 am for outing departure on December 1st.  Please check out the Evite link below.  We’re trying it out to help with keeping an online head count.

Thanks,

Calvin

Calvin-

Sabrina is now a 100% yes.  Who are all the sponsors that are going so that we have the correct ratios and female sponsors?  Just to confirm, we are to drop our youth at the church by 8:00 am, correct?

Thanks so much...

Hi Kristi,

If you can get a check to the church I can pick up tickets on Friday.

Tobin was looking in to discounted group rates for us.  It looks like we will have fewer than 15 going (12 = 9 youths + 3 adults), which means we won't be able to get the group rate.

We can get the So Cal resident rate ($33.99 adults and $19.99 children 3 - 11) and for that we don't have to order them ahead of time.

Dear Parents,

I can get a company discount rate ($25.50 adults and $16.95 children 3 - 11), see attached.  If you can get checks made out to TPCC by Thursday 11/29, I’ll go and pick up the discounted tickets for those who provided checks on Friday, 11/30.

      Hi Calvin,
Doug  has not yet paid. Should the check be made out to TPCC? And who should it go to? We'll be at church tomorrow (Wed) and can drop it off then.
      Thanks,
      Kristi
