Hi Everyone,
After discussing it with Calvin and Carol, we have decided that it would be best to postpone our visit to Sunrise Assisted Living. The purpose of our community service project is to create meaningful relationships with their residents who may not get many visitors. With the events of this week, we are in a less than ideal position and we believe we can serve the residents better if we postpone our first visit until next month. We will still be having youth group this week, but it will be very informal. We will be there at 5:30 pm to hang out, talk, and maybe play some games.
I would also like to extend my offer for any of your children to come hang out at my home for the rest of the week. I know that all of the schools have been canceled for the rest of the week and many of you have jobs to go to. If you need somewhere to send your kids during the day (or if they are just bored), Lauren and I will be at home for the rest of the week. We had five kids come over yesterday and we played some games and had some fun. So feel free to drop your kids off here anytime this week. Just give me a call (619) 301-1113.
