SURFERS

It is Summer and time to hit the H2O.  Water is getting warm and it is great  to enjoy the ocean and model Jesus to the surfing community.

Our Every Saturday Surf Program, at La Jolla Shores headed by Bill Dominy and Denice Graham starts at 7am goes to 8pm.  We have plenty of surfboards and wet suits for all.  Great time to have you and the family learn to surf.

This has been a busy month for the Surf Ministry we have:

1. Started a Warrior surf club (club  "RIO" ride it out) with 45 warriors from the Naval Hospital Surf Clinic  (we provided them with club t-shirts and sweat shirts, funded by the Byster Family Foundation and the Torrey Pines Kiwanis club).  

2.  We  sponsored 14 Warriors members in the La Jolla Shores Surf contest.

3.  Darren Klassen led 9 Warrior surfers on a 2 night surfing safari to Mexico.

4.  Brian Brown, Janet Bishop. Denice Graham , Jim LaMar and Tracy Wagger along with 4 members of our local Boy Scout Troop manned our Surf Ministry booth at the San Diego Festival of Arts. The Festival supports various outreach in the community and we have been one of their recipients the past 3 years.  

5.  We are still involved every Thursday with the Naval Hospital Surf Clinic for Wounded Warriors teaching surfing.

6. Friday July 8, 2016 we will be teaching surfing to a youth group from Virginia,. if you would like to help out give me a call.

6.  Darren Klassen and Toran Gaul were invited to attend a gala affair by the Byster Family Foundation, this was a real honor to be invited by the foundation.
