I AM FORWARDING YOU INFORMATION REGARDING THE LA JOLLA SHORES SURF CONTEST SATURDAY MAY 7 2016.  THE TORREY PINES CHURCH SURF MINISTRY TEAM WILL BE SPONSORING 12 SURFERS FROM THE WARRIOR SURF CLUB "RIO" (RIDE IT OUT) A MILITARY SURF CLUB AND MEMBERS OF THE NAVAL HOSPITAL SURF CLINIC, THIS WILL BE OUR THIRD YEAR SPONSORING THESE GROUPS.
SEVERAL OF OUR SURF TEAM MEMBERS OUR MEMBERS OF THE LA JOLLA SHORES SURFING ASSOCIATION AND WE ARE ASKING YOU TO HELP WITH SOME OF THE ADMINISTRATION OF THIS CONTEST, IF YOU HAVE TIME.  THIS IS A FUN EVENT AND I KNOW YOU WILL ENJOY BEING INVOLVED.  LORRAINE SCHMALENBERGER, OUR CLUB PRESIDENT HAS FORWARD ME INFORMATION REGARDING OUR EVENT AND IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE INVOLVED PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Hello dearest members - we're a few weeks away from our 16th Annual Menehune Surf Contest and I'd like to ask for your help - now is the time to volunteer, take a task, and be counted.  I'd love for you ALL to get involved!

SATURDAY MAY 7 - ANNUAL MENEHUNE SURF CONTEST ALL DAY LA JOLLA SHORES BEACH
We need help with just about everything - so please SIGN UP to take a shift:
* Judging: signup list at Dave's truck for 2 hr shifts starting at 6:30 AM;
* Water Patrol: signup list @ Dave's truck for 2 ppl in the water on either end of surf zone, keeping free surfers out of contest;
* Setup: 5am - 7am. We need 30 ppl to pop up tents, unload trucks, setup booths
* Breakdown: 4pm-5:30pm  We love end of day folks to help w/ cleanup!
* BBQ: we've got a crew; but most likely can use a few ticket takers, burger flippers, setup/cleanup;
* Registration:  Signup with Stephanie Hoffman: step...@ljssa.org, contest director for a 2-4 hour shift morning of, starting at 6:00 am.  This is greeting, checking in participants.
* Errands day prior - picking up items for Lorraine & Stephanie

WEDNESDAY, MAY 4, 5:30 - 7:30 PM, Birds's SURF SHED VOLUNTEER EVENT

Everyone who is volunteering needs to show up to get "oriented" so we can be prepared, especially judges and registration.  We will serve pizza, beer, and salad - so come on and get psyched.  No RSVP necessary, just show up.

LAST CONTEST COMMITTEE MEETING this THURS, APRIL 21, 6PM - 7:30PM
SUSHI MORI, La Jolla Shores, 2161 Avenida de la Playa, la Jolla shores. We'll pitch in some sushi platters.
We need help with rounding up items from sponsors and hanging event posters.  IF you can do either, whether you can make meeting or not, contact Lorraine.
