The second "Working with Threatened Flora" workshop on August 23rd is now full, with 30 people registered. Please let me know if you can no longer come, and I will let somebody else fill your place. It will be held on August 23rd at the Peter Murrell Reserve near Blackmans Bay. I will send everybody out a map closer to the date. To get to the site, you will need to be able to walk for approximately 10 minutes uphill on a four wheel drive track.
I am also looking for helpers on the day. So if anybody feels they are particularly comfortable with Plant ID, or using a GPS (putting the unit on the correct settings, taking waypoints and finding waypoints), please let me know.
The rough plan for the day is:
9:15 – 9:30 Introduction
9:30 – 10:15 Using a GPS
10:15 – 10:45 Plant ID skills
10:45- 11:15 Morning tea
11:15 – 12:00 Recording important site information and threat assessment.
12:00 – 12:45 Recording important population information and monitoring
techniques
12:45 – 1:00 Wrap up (what to do with the data you record, and questions.
(We will split into two groups for the sessions).
It should be a good morning, lets hope for good weather
and some plants in flower!
Cheers,
Jen
