to Threatened Plants Tasmania
Hi all,
Just reminding to those in the south that we are lucky enough to have
Fiona Coats coming over to instruct us on how to get more out of our
orchid monitoring this Sunday the 2nd of November (there will be a
second presentation in Devonport for northern members Monday night the
3rd of November at 7:30 at the Devonport Recreation Centre). We will
be meeting at the Review Room at the botanic gardens just before 10am.
We’ll start with a look at some of our beautiful native orchids with
pictures and explanations from local orchid photographers Peter Fehre
and Malcolm Wells at 10am. Then Fiona will give a presentation on
‘Monitoring to the Max: getting the most out of your orchid data’,
followed by morning tea at about 11:30. It should be a very
interesting and informative look at our orchids and what we can do to
improve their conservation. The types of studies Fiona has been
involved in and will be talking about are exactly what we hope TPT and
TSS will be implementing in Tasmania this season and monitoring into
the future. So if you are keen to be involved in this program please
come along.
Cheers
Matt
