i have tried a lot to install software using tar files,but failed each
time,i googled about the installation a got the procedure,dut it stops
in any of the step.can anyone who has done it earlier help me in this
concern.thanx

My dear friend,
.tar file is a archive file. Just extract it then read the read-me
file.
From there u will get the info, it may be like this...
1. ./configure
2. make
3. make install
