Hi

I started this discussion group some time ago, and moved to New
Zealand not long after that. Its really difficult to keep up with
what's been happening when you are so far away.

I completed the creditor form from Tenon but have never heard anything
else.

Also, on a side issue I noticed the group is being spammed so I have
been cleaning it up.

Any news would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Sarah

In my experience liquidators are a waste of time and money. I am a
creditor to a publisher that went into voluntary liquidation in 2001.
Tenon are the company working in this case too and there has still
been no closure on that - I think they string things out as long as
there are assets to pay their exorbitant fees.

I thought someone named 'Liz' was exploring options but we've heard
nothing from her.

Not a lot. The company has been dissolved. The directors have had a
slap on the wrists. Thats all, and that the conclusion.
Unless people want to pursue the directors personally. Tis however
takes some cash.

what about the land itself? was there really a farmer who was paid millions for land he still uses and makes money out of? or do we all own a strip of land each that we could do something with, ie get the farmer to pay us a decent rent for it?

When I last saw the land it wasn't being used for anything, although some parts may have had pigs on it.

Sorry about the delay, I haven't checked my email for a while. Busy
etc. Yes the land exists and is part of a pig farm. Yes so you now own
a prime piece of pig farm. Yeehaa.

We each own parcels of land, depending on how many you bought.
This land is however not all adjacent to each other, and is spread
over his field. He was going to sell the whole field eventually as
each parcel was sold on to us, i.e. as each person was ripped off. But
they were shutdown before they sold the whole field.

The farmer was paid for each parcel so you could technically fence
your bit off to stop him using it and/or charge him for use etc.
If we all fenced our respective bits off, then it would make it
difficult for him to use it.

There were people in this group talking about it, but this has gone
quiet.
The land is actually not worth much, a lot less than the £9000 they
were selling it for, so I am not sure what the rental value is.

I suspect the farmer was part of the scam, or at least knew what was
going on, but this is hard to prove. But the legal threat could be
enough to make him play ball.
The annoying thing (one of them) is that he still has use of the land
and will eventually acquire it over time anyway unless we stop him
using it, squatters rights etc.

If you have the energy to pursue this then there would be many people
willing to participate, but it needs someone to start the ball
rolling. The best option would be to make him buy back the land from
us.

Ketan.
