I have some news that will be of interest to Townfield investors.
Plots of land are being sold in Reydon by a land banking company
called Global Land Group Limited, 288 Bishopsgate, London EC2M 4QP
www.globallandgroup.com
The land is also being advertised via ADVFN:

The post code for the site is: IP18 6SS
This can be viewed with google earth or

Global Land have 50 plots for sale with prices starting at £12500 for
242 sq m (2600 sq ft).
In the advertising material there is an aerial photo of the site and
surrounding area.
The site is marked with a yellow outline, however adjacent sites have
a red outline
and are flagged as sold. I queried this with the salesman and was told
that the other
land sites had been sold to other land banking companies or banks. I
can't vouch for
that but that is what I was told.
The outlook given for planning permission was medium term, 3-5 years,
this was the opinion
of the salesman.
Note that Global land does not seek PP on behalf of its clients as
that would make it a CIS
and they are not regulated by the FSA. This is clearly stated in their
brochure. They do
retain a portion of the site and seek PP for that.
On the face of it this seems like good news as other companies have
acquired land close to
ours. It would seem incomprehensible for surrounding land to be given
planning permission
and not ours, as they would set a precedent.
The question now is what to do. I have tried to contact Liz but
without success and this
forum does not seem very active. Nor have I heard from the receiver,
in fact they have been
remarkably quiet.
I have spoken to a Director at Global Land regarding their site and
surrounding sites.
They will seek PP some time in the future and anticipate that other
land owners will do
the same. This can only be good news for us as typically developers
would want to build
on a large site rather than a small one.
Global Land will only act in the interests of their own clients, part
of their service
is to keep clients updated on developer interest.
He also implied that we could just wait to be approached by a
developer as any activity
in the area would affect our land.
