Project Cicero Book Drive on Monday, March 4 - Friday, March 8Town School is partnering with Project Cicero Bay Area again this year to help bring much-needed books to the classrooms and libraries of under-resourced public schools in the Bay Area. Please bring in new and gently-used reading books to school Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8. Board books to young adult books are welcome, but please no adult or textbooks. Designated boxes will be set up in the lobby. Town School has generously offered to host the free book fair for invited public school teachers and other literacy educators who will come on Saturday, March 9 to select books for their classrooms. Inaugural Town Film Series on Monday, March 11th 5:30-8pm THE PUSH filmJoin us for a special screening of the award-winning documentary, THE PUSH, and Q&A with stars Grant and Shawna Korgan and Tal Fletcher.THE PUSH focuses on Grant Korgan, an adventure athlete and former nanoscientist who attempts to become the first spinal-cord injured athlete in history to ski the final degree of latitude to the bottom of the world, Antarctica's geographic South Pole, using only his arms to propel himself all the while guided by Marin local, Tal Fletcher. THE PUSH is a truly inspirational story that has won 14 consecutive awards at film festivals across the globe. This event is hosted by Town parents Todd Berardi and Alyssa Warnock. March 13, 9:15 a.m. at Town Dolby Theatre.
Town is hosting Dr. Laurie Santos, whose course “Psychology and the Good Life” has become the most popular course in Yale’s history! She teaches happiness and well-being via behavioral change through positive psychology. Dr. Santos believes students can learn tools to be more grateful, procrastinate less and increase social connections. She believes that those positive habits will decrease mental health issues among students and create happier and more motivated students.
