Description
This application is a continuation of application Ser. No.
07/954,937, filed Sep. 30, 1992, now issued as U.S. Pat. No.
5,514,578, which is a continuation of application Ser. No.
07/485,749, filed Feb. 26, 1990, now abandoned.
This invention was made in part
with government support under Grant DCB 8405370 from the National
Science Foundation. The government may have certain
rights in this invention.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates generally to the use of recombinant DNA
methods as applied to the nucleic acid sequences and
polypeptides characteristic of insect steroid receptor
superfamily members and, more particularly, to uses of such
receptors and the DNA regulatory elements associated with genes
whose expression they regulate for the production of
proteins in cultured cells and, and to uses of such hormone
receptor proteins and genes in identifying new hormones that
control insect development.
