Microsoft Word is designed for general documents such as letters and reports. You can usually make quite good-looking documents in Word. However, it can be quite a pain to add line items, totals and calculate taxes. There are always some unseen and immovable margins at work. Do yourself a service and skip making a template from scratch. Instead use one of the many free invoice templates provided here.

Hi @SRom, yes, it would be a manual add of the snippet in the comments portion. I looked into workflows briefly and don't think it's possible to use workflows. HubSpot is working to build out API capabilities, including the commerce API, so maybe when that's available a snippet could be added automatically when an invoice is created.

The other option is to add the reg. # in your company name or address but this updates globally for not just invoices but things like quotes. To update, go to Settings > Account Defaults > Company name (under company information section). You also have two address lines, so you could possibly use address line one as Registration Number: 12345 and then populate the rest of your address information below it.

If that's not what you're after, you could always create a snippet with the information you want and populate it in the comments portion of the invoice; however, this would be at the bottom of the invoice.

Why in the love of Pete would it ever make sense to have our Logo on the left and our return address on the right of the invoice template? We use standard number 9 two window security envelopes, common to the free world. Does anyone else like to save a bunch of effort and simply fold and stuff rather than print a label or print on the envelope? Saves a ton of time and resources if we can swap the return address and logo locations. Ain't nobody got time!

I wonder if you could toggle the image on invoices specifically to be a version of your address? Except now that I think of it, I think it pulls the related logo that you have uploaded to the business unit.

The standard invoice template is very limiting, and it can be frustrating to have no control over how it looks, what's included (or not included), and etc.

For example, traditionally we have our mailing address as well as a contact email and contact phone number at the top of our invoices.

The invoicing tool doesn't allow for this at all.

The quote tool allows for custom templates, and extending quote template customization to the invoice tool seems like a logical next step that would solve some other problems I've also seen among customers on these forums.

Yes, please! I am exploring using the HubSpot for invoices instead of QB and/or along with but it is very limiting that we can't customize the invoice including adding additional information on the footer rather than having to add a Comment each time

Hi everyone, my name is Tina and I'm a product manager at HubSpot. We are building the ability for invoice users to include additional fields that are displayed on HubSpot invoices. If you would be interested in getting early access to the new feature and help us test it, please let me know by shooting me a message! Thanks!
