Rotary Trust deed format...

Our Dist Secy Rtn Durairaj Kandiar is a practising CA and has
experience in trust matters. During our Governor visit, he went
through our last year accounts and this year fund raiser and advised
that we should immediately create a Trust to avoid Income tax
problems. He further volunteered to help us in this process.

He has forwarded a draft trust deed which can be discussed at the
Board meeting today. Once we have the basic thought, we can have a
core team handle this work.

The Trust subject has been pending at RCCT for a long time and several efforts in that direction have not been closed out. Dist Secy Durairaj Kandiar has offered to help in Trust formation and sent a draft for the same.

It has been suggested by the Board that a small group consisting of PP Rtn Suchitra Sagar, PP Rtn Capt Jayadevan and Rtn Satish Jupiter can look at this subject and drive this effort. 

The Board discussed this subject and it was suggested that we give the Rtn Srikumar's address as the contact address of the Trust by virtue of Srikumar being on the Trust for the next 2 years atleast in the capacity of President and IPP . There are no permanent trustees and trusteeship is linked to the positions occupied by Rotarians in the Club.

Please convene a meeting at the earliest and will be great to have you over at our next Board meeting on 1/4/2014 with your inputs. Our target is to have the TRUST in place before 30th June so that surplus funds can be transferred into the Trust account. He advised that fund flow of this magnitude in our Club will have a lot of tax implications and hence Trust in needed ASAP.

Will do Sagar. I have also obtained formats twice earlier and it stopped each time without followup.

Kandiar has handled a few Clubs trust formation and is willing to do the complete execution if we provide him inputs. He has sent what he has done for one of the Clubs and asked us to revert what are the changes / additions we need to make to suit our Club requirements. 

Do you need a sitting with Kandiar first on this subject. It will be better for the smaller group to meet first and then meet Kandiar with our inputs.

I remember sending a mail on the issue about 6 months ago giving a draft copy of the trust and also raising important issues to be decided by the board before proceeding. Perhaps you could circulate that mail to those concerned. From my side nothing is pending as on date. Do let me know if you want anything specific not covered by my earlier mail to you.
