Subject: Towers event?

Hi, Josh--

I'm writing you on behalf of Vanderbilt Wishmakers, a Vandy student organization that raises money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation (www.wish.org). In order to reach our goal of granting the wish of one child every school year, we are attempting to organize an event, and I am hoping that ResEd will be able to help us out.

We want to host a midnight pancake breakfast/ snack time on Friday, November 30, maybe around 11:30 PM-2:30 AM in the "Study Room" in Towers III/IV. This way, we'll catch people as they are coming home or going out. We would sell tickets ahead of time and at the door for all-you-can-eat pancakes, which would entice residents to come meet new people and learn a little about a great cause. We would be cooking the pancakes, and we are currently asking local companies to donate batter, etc.

Do you think that this would be an event that ResEd could get behind? I talked with Savannah Smith, who said she'd be willing to help out with some of the programming aspects.

If you'd like to learn a little more about our organization, you can go to http://vanderbiltwishmakers.weebly.com/. Even though it's a temporary website and currently under construction, it should have relatively up-to-date information about us and our fundraising efforts, such as Rake-A-Thon.

Please let me know about next steps and/or if you have any questions.

Thanks very much,

Francine Levin
