Subject: SCGSAH Job Posting

Dear Mr. Randy Tarkington:

Enclosed you will find information about summer employment at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH).  SCGSAH is a public residential high school for the state’s emerging artists.  We hold three summer programs that give students the opportunity to hone their skills in a supportive, challenging community with other emerging artists.  Arts concentrations include Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts.

Because the summer students live in the campus community, we have live-in staff positions for the duration of the programs.  The live-in residential life staff oversee the day-to-day functions of student life, with evening hours being the primary focus.  The general responsibilities of the residential life staff include planning and chaperoning daily activities for students, acting as a mentor to students as they deal with being away from home, and providing for the general well-being of students.  All summer positions begin work on June 10, 2013 and include room and board.  A more specific job posting is enclosed.

We ask that you share the job announcement with any Summer Employment, Career Services, or other related offices that you have.  If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to contact me by phone at (864)282-3859 or by e-mail at jeng...@scgsah.state.sc.us<mailto:jeng...@scgsah.state.sc.us>.  Thank you for your time.

                                                                      Sincerely,

                                                                      Jason Englisbe
                                                                      Assistant Director of Student Services
