All,

I don't think the schedule is going to work out for a TAB show this year. There does not seem a good way to meet everyone's schedules and have enough songs.

Sorry about all the time and hard work you put into learning songs. It's always hard to balance schedules with careers and families, so it's not beyond the realm of possibility that we just wouldn't be able to pull it off....and we are firmly in the realm.

Everyone have a great rest of your summer and maybe I will see you at another show around town!

All,

This a bummer but understandable.

Is anyone interesting is playing for the sake of playing (even if there is not a show)?
I would be interested in meeting occasionally just to play for fun. It's more fun playing music with others that to tracks on my computer.
I'm aware that this may be even a harder sell with no show on the horizon. However, this idea could work with smaller groups of people possibly we'd just have to figure out logistics and location.

Let me know if anyone else may be interested in this possibility.

I can start a new thread or sheet if there is interest.

Adam,

Funny that you bring this up because I just mentioned this to my wife.

A number of people have mentioned that they like the rehearsals as much if not more than the show. I was thinking of hosting an open jam night maybe once a month or so where we could all get together and play. Could be a lot of fun.

Let me know what you guys think.

Regards,
Scott

Hi Everyone,

Is anyone interested in an open jam this Friday the 15th? Would be cool to play a few tunes and hang out. Let me know if you’re interested. Maybe we could put together a list of songs that we have played together in previous shows to have things we can play?

We can start at 5:30pm til whenever.

Regards,
Scott

I'm most likely in.    (My oldest kid 11 now so the kids can be on their own for a bit if necessary.)

I normally would jump at the chance, but wouldn't you know it, I have something on Friday.

Nice idea, Mr. Weber.
I would participate depending on song selection to give other drummers a rest! (yuk, yuk)

Scott,
A guitar thing happened to come up on Facebook about My Sharona by the Knack. Wanna do that one?

I learned the parts, but could probably muscle memory it enough by Friday.

Anything else you or (anyone) has in mind?

Dale and I will join the jam for a bit. (Dale leaves early Saturday to drive to Tennessee)

We just played some 90s tunes for an Acoustic Blu set that would be fun with full band:

Shine (Collective Soul)

What's Up? (4 Non Blondes) Key change for this to "G"

Come to my Window (Melissa Etheridge)

Fadeaway and Closer to Free (Bodeans)

See you Friday!

Penny

Scott, thank you for kicking this off and offering to host.

I am interested, but I can't make it this Friday.  With a little more lead time I can generally be available.

I'd like to have a few ideas for songs to play without making this into a full blown TAB song selection experience too.

Here's some of what I know. Pick a key as the only 'key' I know is a drum key!!

All,

I'm in. I will be over closer to 6pm. I have to take my son to Karate from 5 to 5:30 but will head over after that.
One quick favor...

Scott can you remind me of you address.  I don't know that I remember how to get to your place off the top of my head.
