Adera is a 3D point-and-click puzzle adventure game that follows Jane Sinclaire as she journeys to the mysterious city of Adera in search of her missing grandfather. Throughout the game, you will have to solve puzzles, collect artifacts, and explore the environments to reveal the mysteries of Adera. The game boasts vibrant, crisp visuals, but a rather weak, though sufficient storyline. Currently Episode Five of the game is $4.99 in the Windows 8 Store. Additionally, all 5 episodes can be purchased for just $14.99 as the Collector's Edition.

Play through the episode on the hardest difficulty, Trailblazer, focusing on being very thorough and finding all the Adera symbols. Hints are disabled, so you do not need to worry about using those by accident. If you are stuck, see the story-related achievements below for a brief walkthrough on finding items to progress through the story. If you have the Collector's Edition, you can also refer to the Strategy Guide at any point with no impact on any of the achievements. Take note of the miscellaneous achievements as you can do all of those as well. It is likely you won't get all of them on your first try, as they can require some practice and familiarity, especially those related to the mini games.

After your first playthrough, you will likely have to head back through to get the remaining miscellaneous achievements. Because of the way the save system works in the game, you will only get one attempt at everything per playthrough. So if you fail to get an achievement related to a specific minigame, you will need to start a whole new playthrough to be able to try it again.

Episode Five can be completed in under 3 hours as long as you are careful of the missable achievements. It is possible to do everything in a single playthrough, but that is unlikely giving the learning curve on some of the minigames. The only collectibles tied to achievements (Adera symbols) are quite easy to find and the game is relatively short.

NOTE ON GLITCHY ACHIEVEMENTS: It has been widely reported that many of the game's achievements simply do not unlock when they should. This includes both miscellaneous and story-related achievements. So far, no method has been found to guarantee them to unlock. If they do not, you will have to do another playthrough to unlock them again. I suggest you always play on the Trailblazer difficulty, as it may prevent the achievements from glitching. This is not confirmed however.

After the cut scene you will need to follow Billy straight ahead into the doorway. You will go down into a cave and talk to the Radicals. After talking to them, click on the note on the table and complete the map minigame (choose the order from smallest to largest real world sizes of the objects). After that, Billy will offer you a pennant. Take it from his hand to unlock this achievement.

This achievement requires that you finish the game on Trailblazer difficulty. This must be set when you start a NEW game. On this difficulty, things don't sparkle or flash and hints and puzzle skips are disabled, making it more difficult to figure out what you need to do and complete the game. Use the walkthrough provided in the story-related achievements of this guide if you are stuck. You can also open up the Strategy Guide (if you have the Collector's Edition) at any point which will help guide you along or for puzzle solutions. Using the Strategy Guide does not affect any achievements. After completing the game from start to finish on Trailblazer difficulty, the achievement will pop as the credits begin.

This achievement requires that you finish the Knight's Tour chess puzzle without making any mistakes. This puzzle is located in the back right corner of Amaro's secret room behind the waterfall. You must collect the knight chess piece from the safe, and then activate the puzzle. There are three rounds to the puzzle, with each round longer and trickier than the last. You must always move you piece in the "L" pattern as a knight would, and you cant move to the same space twice. See the link below for the solution you should follow for all three rounds.

This achievement requires that you complete the orb game in the Blue Grotto without losing a single node to an orange sphere. The Blue Grotto is towards the very end of Episode 5. The object of the game is to guide a ball of energy from one point to another across the screen, connecting all points. Your enemy will be orange spheres, which if they hit you connection from point to point while you are moving, it will get destroyed. There is three rounds and they get harder as you progress. The key is that there is no time limit. Just take your time and go slow, never taking a risk to get your energy to the next node. The good news is, if at any point you actually do get hit by an orange sphere, you can hit the "Restart" button in the top right corner to reset the round with no penalty. Just make sure you are quick to avoid the background auto saves. This should not be a problem however. There is no real solution for this one. With a little experimentation, timing, and patience, this achievement will be yours.

This achievement requires that you tap a cumulative total of 20 bubbles in the Orb Shifting game. This game is located in the Jungle Cavern, which is the area where you must remove the fallen rocks to proceed. After diverting the blue glow to the fallen rocks, click them to activate this puzzle. This puzzle involves tapping shapes when the orange color shrinks and "focuses" them. Bubbles only spawn from the diamond shapes, not the circles or squares. Tap them when the orange diamond focuses and bubbles will appear (anywhere from 3 to 8 per diamond). Then tap all of the bubbles as fast as you can. Getting 20 should be no problem for anyone. You will be making progress with nodes across the top of the screen from right to left. If you did not have 20 and are almost all the way to the finish on the left, mess up several nodes in a row. This will move you farther from the finish and allow more diamonds to spawn with bubbles for you to pop.

This achievement requires that you rebuild the bridge in the second part of the episode in only 6 moves. Once you lower the vines to the left of the bridge, you need to hit them in a specific order to raise the bridge. There are 4 vines to pull, from left to right, I am numbering them 1 through 4 (i.e. 1 - 2 - 3 - 4). Pull the ropes in this order to unlock the achievement: 2, 1, 3, 2, 3, 1.

This achievement requires that you simply find the picture of Jane's mother. This is not until the end of the Episode, inside Amaro's invisible hut (you must have Orb-mode active to enter the hut). The picture is located right behind the bed, on the headboard in plain sight. Click on it, watch the tiny scene, and the achievement will pop after.

This achievement requires that you complete the wire puzzle in the Glider AND the wire puzzle in the Radical's Camp BOTH in under 1 minutes each in the SAME playthrough of the game. Each of these games have three rounds that get more difficult as you progress. You have 1 minute total to complete all three rounds. This minigame has the gameplay of a puzzle game called Flow if you have ever played that. Basically there are electrical nodes on a grid that must be connected with wires while not overlapping with other ones. Looking at the solutions, you should have no problem getting this achievement. The first wire puzzle is right at the beginning of the game in the glider. The second one is about half way through the episode, just after you talk to the Radicals. See the photos below for solutions. I found it easiest to draw out the short paths first and save the long ones for last.

This achievement requires that you completely fill the boards on all three rounds of the Glider Wire Puzzle with wires so that not even a single space is open. You do not need to actually complete the puzzle this way, just fill the board and hit the "Reset" button in the top right corner of the screen. This should be done on a separate play of the game as doing this will prevent you from getting the "Fire Wire" achievement. This is no big deal because this is the episode's first mini game and only takes about 30 seconds to reach from the start of the Episode. Start the mini game, completely fill the first board, hit reset, complete the first board legit. Fill the second board up, hit reset, then complete it for real. Do the same with the third. The achievement will pop as soon as you fill up all spaces of the third board.

This achievement requires that you complete the Maze Puzzle in the Great Hall by rotating the maze only 10 times. This is the game's final puzzle. You need to get a ball through a maze and into an exit hole. The catch is the rotation needed to do so. This makes it a very tricky puzzle and almost impossible to do in only 10 rotations without a solution. See the pictures below to make this achievement a breeze. In the pictures, where BOTH rotation and movement are occurring, do the movement first, then rotation.

NOTE: If you for some reason mess up this puzzle, do not worry because after you complete the game you can reload your last checkpoint, which is just moments before this puzzle. Make sure to hit "Continue Game" and NOT "New Game" to reattempt.

There are a total of 17 Adera symbols that need to be examined (i.e. clicked or tapped) spread across Episode 5. They are usually quite visible, but some of them are very trick to find.

There are 7 in the first part of the episode. Make sure you have all of them and have already unlocked the achievement before progressing to far (the game will warn you when you wont be able to come back). Similarly, in part 2 of the episode, there are 10 Adera symbols to find. These should be collected before you complete the final puzzle, but do not have to be as you can load you last checkpoint after beating the game. There is one achievement for finding all the symbols in each part of the episode. See the locations below.
