Is there a way to make tovid not re-encode a mpg video it created?

Hi

I want to reuse the *.enc.mpg files that tovid creates. However, the newer versions of tovid  re-encodes the videos again. The *.enc.mpg files are the same quality number and the same resolution ( half-dvd ).  Earlier versions of tovid didn't re-encode *.enc.mpg files unless I changed the quality number and the resolution.

I am using tovid version 0.35.0-89-gd3595a7

I appreciate any help. Thanks

That is strange. Is it actually re-encoding or does it just make a
symlink to the original? What does "tovid id -verbose yourfile.enc.mpg"
say? (post the output in your reply).

cheers,
grepper

Hi grepper, thanks for the reply.

It doesn't overwrite the enc.mpg files. I believe it was my bad and I was doing something wrong.

I did two video projects with tovid using the existing enc.mpg files and tovid didn't re-encode the videos. All it did was read the log files and processing the frames until it reaches 599 and etc...

Everything is good.

Thanks for a wonderful tool like tovid :)
