OCTOBER 29, 2013 – Attorney Emmanuel Roy is not only President Michel Martelly’s former lawyer, but he was one of the architects of Martelly’s campaign and the author of the book, the first of its kind “Mr. Le President.” Mr. Roy has been an ardent supporter of both President Martelly and Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe. In fact, when Laurent Lamothe was nominated for Prime Minister by President Martelly, Mr. Roy personally lobbied on behalf of Laurent Lamothe and met several times with many senators in Miami and in Haiti seeking to assure their votes on behalf of Laurent Lamothe.
A few weeks ago, Mr. Roy has taken a different tune, asking for the resignation of the Prime Minister. Mr. Roy has a very str ong presence on Facebook and has used such medium to accuse the Prime Minister of corruptions. The sixty-four-thousand dollar question is why is Mr. Roy criticizing Laurent Lamothe now? Why does he want Lamothe to resign? Why not president Martelly? We should also note that Mr. Roy has been and advisor to Bernice Fidelia, the former Minister of Haitian Living Abroad, and Mr. Roy has never before voiced his opinion about the firing of his friend Bernice Fidelia. Is Mr. Roy asking for the resignation of Laurent Lamothe as a payback for the firing of his “special friend” Bernice Fidelia?
