I just bought a Toughbook CF-27 from eBay. It's BIOS is dated 1999.
I want to install Ubuntu, but it requires a BIOS dated 2000 or later.
I have heard there are BIOS updates for CF-27 that are 2000 plus, but
can't find anywhere to get them. Any links to sites where I can get a
BIOS update?

Here is a link from Canada Panasonic, one of the few Panasonic sites
that still supports the older
Toughbooks-

Can someone answer me this? I downloaded the Bios update for the
CF-27.
To install it, you must put the unzipped file on a bootable floppy.
I'm using Windows 2000 and the only information I can find on making
the
floppy bootable is for making setup files for Win 2000 on 4 floppy
discs
which isn't the information I'm looking for. Can anyone steer me in
the right
direction for making a single bootable floppy I can put the Bios file
on?
Thanks in advance,
alaskaraoke

Put a blank disk in your floppy drive.

In Win2000 My Computer or Windows Explorer find your A: drive and
right click it. Choose Format.

In the format window there is a checkbox with either make disk
bootable or copy system files. check this box and start the format.

When it's done, copy the BIOS update to the disk.

Restart your system with the floppy in the drive. It should boot from
the floppy and install the update.
