It's that time of year.  We have less than 2 months and it will be more helpful for everyone to train if they know what exactly they have ahead of them. In the interest of not forcing difficulty on someone, I think it is easiest to self-place ourselves into tiers.

Through a review of the distances and elevations I have placed the legs into three separate tiers (by no means definitive):

Tier 1: 7, 9, 2, 3
Tier 2: 12, 10, 1, 5
Tier 3: 4, 8, 11, 6

*Note that each tier has 2 runners in early car and 2 runners in late car

Please think through where you are in the training and submit to the group which tier you think you are best suited for. After the tiers have been decided, each tier can decide amongst themselves which specific leg they will take.

As a sad side note, I received an X-ray yesterday and have a sprain/torn ligament in my foot (best news it could have been!) which has put me out the last few weeks and should take around 2 more weeks to heal. I will then ease back into training, but I fully plan to participate in the race if I am able. If I cannot get up to speed in time for October 25th, I have secured a backup.

My first choice is tier 3 but I can do tier 2 if needed.

I'm down to join you boys on tier 1... feeling pretty good about my training, so i'll volunteer for leg 7, looks like a sweet run through the mountains!

Summer is winding down, but of course it's still hot as a mofo down south... People are battling through injuries, both physical and mental, and work gets harder and harder every day..  This is the toughest part of the training, when we're all really starting to doubt if we can do this thing.  But let's not get discouraged!  One day at a time is all it takes....

Looking forward to the race guys! I miss all you mudders and budders..

The Tiers have been selected based on preferences and distances listed on the tracking tool.

Tier 1: Thomas, Brooks, Kent, John
Tier 2: Chip, William, Amy, Alli
Tier 3: Frank, Max, Duncan, Forrest*

*I hopefully can begin training again at the beginning of next week and my goal is to break into Tier 2 so I will do my best to trade with one of the Tier 2 folks

If you log on the Ragnar website and look at our team roster,  you can select Show Profiles to see everyone's phone numbers. During this week please mass text or call your teammates in your tier to determine exactly which leg each person will be running. You can then drag your picture to that leg. These leg selections are by not definite (see note above) however I think you should be 80% sure that you will be running those legs. Please complete this and let's have our team placed into spots by Sunday.

Thank you.

Forrest
