Hello, just want to share some details of the installation process in John Bowen Solaris. It's not hard however is a bit complex installation due to the mechanical design of the synth.

It has plenty space inside it, but it needs a support mount for Touchkeys boards. I used simple aluminum corner frame from Home Depot store (like OBI in EU). Also, by the Solaris design you must unscrew the keyboard if you open the lid and move it away to allow to open. That's is unacceptable for Touchkeys, so I have to cut a metallic piece of side panel to be able to attach wooden panel after the lid is closed. I used USB type-B converter to nicely mount the socket on the back side.

Key size matched ideally. no extra cut is required.

Hi Andrei,

This is great -- thanks for the detailed photos! It looks like a nice solution you have constructed to attach the controller boards to the back of the key bed. And it seems like the panel mount USB sockets are very effective.

Best wishes,
Andrew

Thank you Andrew,
I used 3M VFB double side tape to hold the boards. This is the most reliable tape in my opinion, but it always requires cleaning off the grease from a surface.

Wow~!
Really wish I'd not sold my Solaris now. :-)
