Dear participants,
The submission deadline is approaching (Friday, CEST) and we happily noticed that several of you are now submitting their approaches.
Naturally, there are problems that occur during the submission process. For those who are waiting for the last minute to submit: do yourself a favor and don’t do that. From experience, many mistakes happen when you submit in a hurry.
Instead, we recommend doing a dummy submission now (if you have not submitted already), possibly just using our baseline systems, to make sure you understand the submission process. You can always tell us after the deadline that a certain submission should not count.
Moreover, once you submitted and encountered problems, we can work together with you to resolve these. There are some help threads in the Forum already [1] and I like to thank especially Maik for all the support he provides. Please do not hesitate to ask there for help on your specific problems or contact us organizers at tou...@webis.de.
If you have submitted by the deadline, but the submission does not run properly, we will try to sort it out together with you, also beyond the deadline. So: do not panic. Just tell us when you need a few more days, and we will find a way. We just don’t accept entirely new submissions that come in after the deadline, because then we would never finish.
Finally, I would like to thank you all for participating. A shared task is always an adventure for both participants and organizers. And at the end, we know a bit more on what works and what does not. And I would like to stress that also the latter (knowing what does not work) is great to know.
Happy submitting!
Johannes, for the Touché team
