New issue 28 by Christof...@gmail.com: Tou.tv for XBMC Android

It would be really great if we could use tou.tv with a plugin with XBMC on
android since the TOU.TV android app is really bad.

I use a MK808 pcstick and the plugin doesn't work on it.

I just bought an Ouya for the main purpose of replacing my power sucking PC
in my livingroom that's currently running xbmc on openelec. I'm
disappointed to find out that the tou.tv addon my girlfriend loves won't
run. Every time I load a video nothing happens. Once I cancel, the audio
from the requested video actually starts.

It works partially through Firefox mobile after I installed the tou.tv
add-on on my Ouya. It says it needs an app to run the file, but after
clicking OK it displays a black screen and starts within 5 seconds. Before
I installed the add-on it didn't work. After the add-on was installed it
begins the programs through Firefox mobile edition. The menu is really
limited to a few favorites shows only. I can not get the search and
complete menu to function on Firefox like it does in Windows.

I just tested the default Ouya browser and the good news is the search icon
works. It defaults to a more complete list of shows. I watched the 2013
Bye-Bye again. It did not show a message of needing an app and began the
show with a short black screen like in Firefox. I would say for Tou.tv the
Ouya browser is better than Firefox.

Through the Tou.tv add-on I get the sound only. The video will not load,
but I can hear the sound too. It seems to be unable to load the video
because the menu list on XBMC does not disappear. I believe the Tou.tv
add-on provided the application that was needed to run the videos since
they would not load before.

Are you saying that tou.tv works in the Ouya browser but only if you have
the xbmc add-on installed? That seems surprising because how can xbmc
influence your browser? Do you have to run your browser from within xbmc,
under Android Apps?

It didn't work when I tried it with only the Firefox browser. Got an error message about needing an appl to play the videos. Then click OK and it didn't work.
After the XBMC TOU.TV was added Firefox displayed the same error message, but exited to a black screen and then the full screen video a few seconds later.
Only then did I try the OUYA browser which is better than Firefox to navigate TOU.TV

I don't know. I suspect it installed the necessary app and the OUYA had the path to it in memory to load it when it needs to. That's my guess at least.

under Android Apps?

No, go to MAKE
then SOFTWARE
in the OUYA menu

Press the Y button to edit the web address line.
Simply enter TOU.TV and select GO
