This means that every power outlet becomes a potential access point for powerful multi-room WiFi (with the devolo MAGIC 2 WiFi next adapter). It doesn't matter how many devices you and your family are connected to: thanks to the multi-user MIMO technology, several devices can benefit from a very high data transfer rate at the same time. Magic 2 WiFi next also has two Gigabit LAN ports for maximum connectivity.
devolo Magic uses the innovative G.hn technology, which offers the highest transmission speed. The devices will develop their full power only in a purely G.hn environment, i.e. without using other powerline adapters in parallel. devolo relies on modern G.hn technology for all Magic products. The second generation of G.hn chips provide outstanding speed and stability.
Following the switch to fibre and the change of box, the wifi no longer covered the whole house and the old PLC sockets were limited to 40 Mb/s. With this pack, the wifi and PLC coverage gives at least 140 Mb/s throughout the house.
Note that the boxes are larger than my old ones (Netgear 500+).
- For each RED subnet there is an Option 234 configured which points to the default gateway of the small RED network i.E. the firewall IP in the network. (I don't think that this is really necessarry but I am not 100% sure. Maybe somebody knows ??
- But only a few work on the WiFi side. I can not figure out the setting that let some devices run and some not.
- The ones that are not running reserve an IP for the WLAN Controller on the DHCP Server of the windows server. However they can not be activated (should happen automatically i guess). Is this correct?
- If I delete the WLAN Controller it comes up in the section "Pending Access Point" next time and can be accepted. It is accepted right after the configuration as well. Although there is an IP reserveration for the wifi controller and the lan is working the Wifi stays silent (I configured a group with WPA2 and WPA2 Enterprise - either both are working or none).
- A restart of the access points do not help.
In the screenshot below the first Wifi is working. The second and the last ones are not. The third was online some hours ago.
I can not figure out why some Wifis are working and some not. Besides the networks in the standard/split tunnel (and standard/unified) mode (always containing the network of the DHCP servers) I find no other differences between the configuration.
I also tried this with a local DHCP and I see the same effects (some wifi working and some are not).
What is the issue here?
How can I get more Information for troubleshooting?
I also noticed some losses of pings (2-3) when I switch off or switch on one these REDs (although they all have a different networks and are not organised in bridge). Is this the normal behaviour?

BeEf
I have a Hub 2 in quite a large house with internal block walls, so have issues getting Wi-Fi signal at the end of my house furthest away from the router - I have opted to buy Devolo magic 2 - mesh Wi-Fi 6 whole home kit. I have followed all of the devolo set-up advice to pair all 3 adaptors and clone my existing PlusNet WIFI SSID/password & now plugged them in around the house, so would hope they are now working - I believe the ones further away form the Hub 2 are working as the Wi-Fi signal seems much stronger, but the adaptor closest to the hub 2 appears to be of no use - I read on another forum that I should turn off the hub 2 Wi-Fi function as the Devolo / Hub 2 signals may be interfering with each other, but when I go into the web browser for the router and turn off Wi-Fi, the cloned Devolo network seems to disappear - is there some other setting in the Hub 2 I need to change?
I would try swapping the adaptors to see if your closest one is defective. My Devolo powerline network required re-pairing at times, one burned out and finally I could not pair following a change of router. Maybe I was just unlucky but no problems since I changed to TP-Link. My nephew in Oxford had identical experience, annoying since I recommended Devolo to him in the first place ...
Not sure Rick, I use the PN Hub wifi for one end of the house, two powerline adaptors supply wifi to the far end, don't use mesh systems because this setup meets all our needs. It's an old house with solid concrete walls that my masonry drill struggles to penetrate never mind wifi. In recent times I use a BT HH6 with far better wifi than the Hub One. I suppose it depends on whether you want wifi in the area close to your router.
@R1ck If the first Devolo is connected by ethernet I would expect the mesh to use that to connect all the devices back to the Hub2. The Hub2 Wi-Fi will know nothing about the mesh configuration. Why not just try it with the Hub2 Wi-Fi switched off.
