CheatCodes are words that can be entered during gameplay to affect the zombies (except for trickedout). They may be typed at any time while the game is running. The effect is applied after the last letter is typed. There is no need to press enter.
In the console versions of Plants vs. Zombies, an "enter cheat code" menu is required. To bring it up in the Xbox Live Arcade version, the player must enter LB, RB, LT, RT. In the PlayStation 3 version, it is L1, R1, L2, R2. All original codes will work for both versions.
In the PlayStation Vita version, to be able to enter the codes, the player must have the Tree of Wisdom, but they do not have to grow it to 1000 feet to unlock all the codes, unlike in other versions. When the player buys the tree, a flower with a question mark in it will appear on the home screen, click it and a raven will say "Enter Code", with a keyboard showing up for the purpose of typing the codes.
There do not appear to be any codes within the Nintendo DS, iPhone and Android versions of the game. In the Nintendo DS version, the player can use Action Replay for getting cheats, but it has to be on a Nintendo DSi version.
Note: Some codes won't activate if the player's Tree of Wisdom isn't tall enough on most versions; the player must grow it 100 feet to use daisies, 500 feet for dance and 1000 feet for a pinata.
New plants introduced as you advance. To plant press the Z on the keyboard or A button on the controller. This will allow you to select the plan you'd like to plant there. Press Z again to plant. To exit without planting, press X or B button, or move down off the plant selection bar.
This is a really fun port and i think the art is perfectly functional imo. Coming from the first game, everything is clearly distinguishable. I never had to guess at anything.
This is so grand an immediate add in to my pico-collection! :D
Keep up the great work!
P.S. PLEASE let the secondary button be a "Return to Build Menu" button instead. With pausing instead being some function of both. Having to move the cursor aaaalll the way back up to the top wastes valuable time of which you have little of in this sort of game!
I found a bit of a hack. You can just keep dropping the walnut down and harvesting sunshine to plan a big army. But I did see a chunck of my army deteriorate before the next wave randomly after doing this, didn't know what was up with that. I don't remember that happening in the original. But in any case it helped me really cement my position, I was able to basically play until I got bored.
added new a feature, level 3 and beyond, when only a few zombies left it starts a 35 second timer before the next level begins. Should prevent building large gardens by delaying the last zombies in the early levels.
Keyboard Maestro provides an extensive library of sample macros as part of the app installation. Open the Editor, and goto the menu Window > Macro Library to display the library. You can then select one or more macros to import into your library.
Each macro should be added as a child page with it's title and a brief summary added here. The child page should contain an explanation of the macro, a download link, it's triggers, and its actions (see Duplicate Line for an example template). The uploaded file should be in the macros namespace.
Activate Address Book is a macro that just activates the Mac OS X Address Book application - I use it with a hot key trigger of 'F9' (my most commonly used apps are all on the functions key of my Apple wireless k/b).
This macro group from Clytie Siddal adds a numeric keypad on your main keyboard, perfect for keyboards that do not have a real number pad. Press the option-Z hot key trigger to activate the number pad, then the letter keys M, and J,K,L, and U,I,O produce the numbers 0, and 1,2,3, and 4,5,6 (the number keys 7,8,9 on the top of the keyboard complete the number pad). Press option-Z to disable the numeric keypad when you are done.
Alain Damlamian has created a package of macros for TeXShop users. It includes a number of macros for inserting various tamplate text items, such as definition, lemma, proof, etc. It has various hot key, and status menu triggers, and displays as a floating palette in TeXShop. This macro file requires Keyboard Maestro 3.4 to import properly.
This macro duplicates the current line. It will work well in most text editors. It works by selecting the current line, then Copy, then deselect the line and Paste, and finally restores the clipboard. It then reselects the just duplicated line to highlight it and allow further duplication.
This macro group allows you to move and resize windows using the arrow keys. Press the control-W hot key trigger to activate the macro group (an optional palette appears) and then use the arrow keys to nudge windows around. Hold the option key down to move by 10 instead of 1, or the shift key to resize instead of move. Note that some applications do not like the windows resized under them (eg Eudora and Quicken). Press control-W to disable the macro group when you are done.
Plants vs Zombies is a great game with lots of depth and interest to it. But it can get a bit tedious racking up gold for your next purchase. Thus articles on gold farming suggest ways of getting gold, but setting up such a farm is rather tedious. Enter Keyboard Maestro! This macro will setup a gold farm (as described in 460: Alternate Setups). Start Plants vs Zombies, start the Last Stand game, and then run this macro to select and plant the various plants. Watch a video of the macro in action.
Now Playing in Spotify is a macro that will paste a line that tells people what you are listening to in Spotify. It will also link them to the track in Spotify so they can click it and listen to it with one click. The line will say something like:
Download: DOWNLOAD LINK created via the Media Files window - use the Add Images button in the tool bar, click on the macros namespace, and then upload the file. Then click on the resulting file to insert the link into your wiki article.

3) Create a front runner where none exists! Pole vaulting zombies run fast until they vault over a nut, and the newspaper zombie runs fast after getting the paper destroyed by a nut. Just let them run a little bit down the lawn before sending a nut their way.
4) Just because you have nuts does not mean you have to use them. This is where "Nerves of Steel" comes into play. When there are a few zombies ambling down the lawn without a clear ricochet shot, wait a little bit to see if more of their friends will step out to play. They can always be killed once they cross the red line.
6) Reserve the exploding nuts. Try not to use those nuts unless a mob crosses the line, or there are not enough nuts or room to clear out a hard to kill zombie. Use the regular wallnuts for the zombies that have not reached the red line.
7) Don't use exploding nuts to kill pole vaulting zombies directly. Pole vaulting zombies only jump obstacles in their own lane. A pole vaulting zombie who has not vaulted yet will safely jump over explosions or nuts in their own lane; so find a neighbor in the next lane and time the nut to hit when the pole vaulting zombie gets close to the neighbor.
Once you have the Zen Garden, water the plants until they don't need anything else. After that, change the Date on your PC to another day. As soon as you do, the plants will need water again. Repeat this -- buy new plants, grow them to full size, sell and repeat to earn money.
