Hi all,

First: exciting updates:
  • Heather is working on total-impact full-time as of August 1st!
  • Jason is in Vancouver for the next two months of intensive total-impact work.  Megasprint!
  • total-impact now supports much larger collections; we've tested up to 400 items per collection.  We still have a bit of work to do to make the collections fast, but those with long lists of DOIs can do some fun experimenting
  • we've added some new metrics, including
    • citations by papers in PMC,
    • citations by *review* papers in PMC,
    • citations by *editorials* in PMC,
    • the number of *student readers* in Mendeley (roughly, based on top-three reported job descriptions)
    • the number of Mendeley readers from developing countries (again, roughly)
    • a note if an article has been reviewed by F1000

Second:  we've made a change to the api.  It doesn't affect single item embedding;  unless you are using the /items endpoint (and as far as we know, only our webapp uses this at the moment) you won't notice.  Basically, we've replaced the /items endpoint with a new and improved /collection endpoint (almost entirely).  See the api docs for details.

Cheers,
Heather
