Ihad to have a new hard drive installed in my computer now I cannot get Sims 3 into the Future to install I keep getting an error message I have tried to contact EA they sent me one email telling me to close background apps and uninstall the EA app and reinstall it I've done all of that I've tried to run a repair on the game I've uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and still have the same problem. Is there anyone that can help me?
@jenynya I'm sorry, I don't have any other suggestions. You'll need to wait for EA to fix the issue on their end. I or someone else will post any new information in this thread, so feel free to subscribe to get updates.
@puzzlezaddict I take back what I said this actually works. When I first installed origin again it kept having connection failures but I tried today and it worked pets downloaded, I'm gonna leave it for longer and hope university installs as well. Thank you so much!
I recently had a new hard drive installed in my computer and my Sims 3 into the future will not install. I have tried to get help from EA tech support about a week ago and I have only received one email and that was the only option they will give. I have run a repair on the game uninstalled and reinstalled both the EA app and the game including all or the game packs. I can't seem to get any help help through EA for some reason. I don't know what to do. Is there someone who can possibly help me? Im attching a screenshot of the error message I'm getting.
I am pretty sure this has been asked and answered so if you can provide the solution thanks. Sim travels to future but when there sim does not show. The sim portrait is missing an the sim panel is blank. When sim arrives in future town it is active the time is moving and sims are walking around the only thing missing is my sim coming through the portal.
oh boy , see if either of these links can help this issue can also happen with sending sims off to the world adventures, uni and as you see into the future too , you may also have a save game corruption going on too if you can try go to edit town save a copy of your sim to the library start a new game and try again if you have the back up save in the saves folder you can make a copy of that then rename the copy by carefully removing the .backup and then launching the launcher and start the game from the renamed save if your sim shows up then save a copy of the to the library and starting again ( and yep i've had to do at times wave a game goodbye ) if in the saves folder any of your saves have a .bad delete them they are no good and just take up space some tips here that may or may not work
I am having some troubles installing the Sims 3 - Into the Future expansion pack. I went to the sims website and purchased the pack, and went to install it though Origin. The only issue is that when I go to my game library and attempt to download the game itself, a dialogue box appears and says,
"It seems the base game for this DLC was not installed through Origin. For The Sims 3 Into the Future to work, you must:
1. Select Uninstall Now below, locate the base game. and follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall it.
2. Download and install the base game through Origin by selecting it in My Games and clicking download.
After that, you can download and play the Sims 3 Into the Future."
My question is what is the base game? The original Sims 3 game that I purchased? I have tried uninstalling the entire Sims 3 and reinstalling it, but the Into the Future expansion pack still will not allow me to download it because of the 'base' game. Anyone know how to go about fixing this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
I don't work or have any association with EA. I give advice to the best of my knowledge and cannot be held responsible for any damage done to your computer/game.
Please only contact me via PM when asked to do so.
I did some research and saw the post regarding the DLC compatibility issue that some people have been experiencing when attempting to run their games. However, if I attempt to solve the same problem from the post on 'DLC Compatibility Issues", I get the error message that says, "Windows prevented the application from creating a download directory. Please accept the UAC prompt to begin downloading this game." I've tried lots of different methods of uninstalling the original Sims 3, and all of my expansion packs, does anyone have any advice? I would be more than grateful for any info on how to solve this problem

"Setup has detected that the sims 3 is corrupted or not installed.
Setup is unable to continue"
Why this is happening to me??
My sims 3 is not corrupted and it is installed too.I have no mods also.
So why this is happening?
I, too, am having a problem downloading The Sims : Into The Future expansion pack. I just recently bought it from the sim store. When I tried to download it, it says: Before you can download The Sims Into The Future, you must first update The Sims 3. From the launcher, my sims is already updated to 1.67, but I still can't manage for Origin to recognize the fact that it's already updated so I can download the expansion I just paid for. I think from here on out, I will be buying hard copies instead of downloads because I don't have money to be wasting on things that don't work. Do you have any idea of how I can get it to work properly?? I have uninstalled & reinstalled & nothing is working!! HELP!!
This article details my first adventure in the Future town of Oasis Landing, the same tutorial/Opportunities that other Sims 3 players will encounter if they continue working with the Time Traveler upon arrival. I did this while notetaking for other articles and threw it together to help clear up some other players' confusion on accessing the world and highlight how helpful some of the Opportunities from the Time Traveler are once you've arrived. There are a few opportunity chains to do, and the first I recommend you do, Buried in the Sand, offers great rewards while the others introduce you to new gameplay elements from Into the Future.
When starting the game, you won't see the new town Oasis Landing in the list. Oasis Landing only exists in the Future, and can be traveled to in-game from any town you decide your Sims will live in. Its fate will be altered by your Sim's actions in the Present. So pick a town and load up the game (or previous save) if you're eager to check out the new Future World included with the Expansion.
Shortly after you've loaded up the neighborhood and moved in your Sims a portal will appear on your lot or somewhere else in the world, through which a Time Traveler will emerge. Emit (Surely a Back to the Future reference) will give you an Opportunity called Help a Time Traveler out. Collect the power cells scattered around your lot and give them to the Time Traveler to improve your relationship. You'll be given the Almanac of Time, which lets you alter the Future, view your Sim's descendents, and learn the requirements to get a Legacy Statue of your Sim built in Oasis Landing. You can find the Almanac of Time by the Phone and Collection Journal in your all your Sims' inventories.
While the Time Traveler is visiting the Present, you can talk to him to learn about the Almanac of Time and changing the future. He'll also speak with you about future destinations like the Bot Arena and let you know about advanced technologies and means of travel.
Once you have the Almanac and have completed the Opportunity, you are ready to enter the portal at any time and can freely close/open the portal and move it to a better spot on your Sim's lot (close it and then put it in your Sim's inventory). You are also able to Summon the Time Traveler through the portal to speak to him about the Future and even make a friend of him, if you are not ready to go. If you need a replacement Wellsian Time Portal or didn't get your own for some reason, they can be bought for $750 in the Buy Mode > Outdoors > Outdoor Activities tab. The Portal is portable and may be put into your Inventory when deactivated, but must be placed in order to be used.
