I do not understand if the second is another Caniell's "creation". In the presentation he says: This important benefit concert, at which I was present, occurred in Carnegie Hall. It was not broadcast. It was preserved in good sound by the Carnegie Hall recording service for the Toscanini family. The entire concert is offered with a significant change. The Walküre scene from Act I had the role of Siegmund sung by Set Svanholm. I could not endure his singing then or in any rehearings since, thus my inability to release this concert during the past 40 years of our work. Finally, during 2025, a solution occurred to me, replace Svanholm with Melchior who sang this role under Toscanini's direction in 1940 and that's what I did. Every moment of this concert is conducted by Toscanini and the totality of its effect and importance has not been attenuated by the change I made. Extensive notes, photos and biographies. An example of Svanholm's singing in this concert is included. It will explain the replacement.
The full original Svanholm voice is available in other editions, for instance the ones by Myto or Guild, in a previous rehearsal of April 1947.
