hi,

When downloading my repositories on a clean machine, the client freez around 300Mb of dl.

Step:
- on a new machine
- create a folder
- use 1st level contextual menu item "svn checkout .."
- fill in data & check out
- wait for it
- around 303Mb of dl, the client stop the dl. (speed 0, log does not move)

after the client freezed, I close it (alt+f4) and do an "update", an error message invite me to do a "clean up" (may need to be done more than once) then, I can do an "update" and continue the normal download of the rep.

This happend to me with 2 of 3  repo (third repo was 20Mb only) in the last two hour at more or less 300-306MB , So I assume this is a bug.

What I mean by freeze:
- no activity in windows log (stop downloading files)
- dl speed is 0
- mouse cursor is "busy" (sand clock)
- application is responsive when I close it (normal close is possible)

Note:
- I did not enter my account/pass (not requiered by my server to dl)

My client version:
TortoiseSVN 1.6.12, Build 20536 - 32 Bit , 2010/11/24 20:59:01
Subversion 1.6.15,
apr 1.3.8
apr-utils 1.3.9
neon 0.29.5
OpenSSL 0.9.8p 16 Nov 2010
zlib 1.2.3

my PC setup:
Win XP Pro. version 2002, SP3. (Spanish version)
(recently re-installed)

I did not find any reference to this kind of problem in the mail archive, sorry If I miss it.

regards,

Christophe

Sorry, you do not "download" your repository, you do a "checkout".

Almost certainly not a bug. Do you have a virus scanner running? Can you
disable it? Is your working copy on a local drive? Does the client
always freeze on the same file? Can you reproduce this with the command
line client?

I assume it was a bug cause both dl stop after copying the same volume of files. (it's suspicious)

I got Avast! (free edition, default setting)
I dl the file to my local HD

Does the client always freeze on the same file?
Can you reproduce this with the command line client?

I will run some more test tomorrow (and investigate the cmd line magic). and keep you posted. thanks for quick feedback.

Hi,

sorry, I cannot reproduce the behavior I noticed the other day.

cannot reproduce = not a bug.

sorry for the bother.
