Filename extension duplicated as part of the filename

Hi all,

I do not know yet if this issue is in TortoiseSVN or subversion or maybe in MS windows 7.

So the source file before check in is named something like

   PartNumber.ext

but name in the archive ends up as

   PartNumber.ext.ext

Any clues? I just started looking into this but could not find anything in the FAQ

or any results in google searches.

Heading to a meeting, but I'll add more details soon.

Now if I remove the extension in windows, the file type 

becomes just File and there is NO file extension.

I did just change the filename in subversion and it kept the extension

(so the filename in subversion is not "14-0004-SRC.qar.qar", but

it is now "14-0004-SRC.qar")

Updating my working folder also now shows the single extension name.

I'll let you all know if that fixed the issue.

Do you have explorer configured to hide file extensions of known file types? Then you won't see an extension in explorer even though it's there, and when you then add yourself an extension, the file actually has two.

That is apparently what happened. And once it gets started, it just gets worse.

The solution was to remove the extra extension to rename the file within the

subversion archive. Then the original person having the problem refreshed

his working copy and all was well.
