Whenever I attempt a Commit through Visual Studio 2005/VisualSVN, the TortoiseSVN pop-up window hangs on the "Sending content" step. The commit is tiny-- just a change to a web.config file.

If I close the TortoiseSVN Commit pop-up and open the Repo-browser, I see that my change was actually committed.

But, I'm stuck in a loop of following the suggestions of the prompts: update my working copy of the web.config (it's out of date); run cleanup (there's a lock on the parent directory); Make another change to the working copy of the website, and it sticks on "Sending content" again).

This was working fine up until about 2 days ago, when (if I recall correctly) the issue began just after I killed a hung .exe that was running as part of a post-commit hook.

So, desired behavior would be that the Commit pop-up successfully completes.

Undesired behavior is that the Commit pop-up hangs on "Sending content" and leaves the parent directory in a locked/conflicted state.

Some vitals: locally, I'm running XP Professional. The server where the repository resides is running Windows 2003 Server and Subversion 1.6.6 (r40053). The project I'm working with is a C#/ASP.Net 2.0 Website. I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and VisualSVN 1.7.7.

Thanks in advance for your any help you can give.

What post-commit hook are you using? Are you sure that this works fine
at the moment?

Does the commit work when done with TSVN from Explorer directly
instead of through VS2005?

Which TSVN version are you using?

Hello Jean-Marc,

Thank you for your reply.

The post-commit hook was a custom .exe that I wrote in C#. I disabled the hook so I could rule this out as the source of the problem.

With the post-commit hook disabled, and attempting the commit through Windows Explorer (instead of VS 2005), the commit still hangs on "sending content." (no change in behavior)

I am using TortoiseSVN 1.6.6, Build 17493.

Thank you for your help,
Keith
