From the command line: "svn update newfolder" within an existing working copy.
(i.e. trying to avoid having to update the entire parent tree in order to get the newly added folder).
Is there a way to do this within Tortoise?

Right Click on WC "check for modifications", button "check repository",
find the item you want to update, right-click update.
