Hello,

We’ve got one laptop running Windows 7 pro x64 (other PC’s are still running Windows XP x86).

I’ve installed version 1.7.13.24257 on that machine and when I try to start Tortoise SVN (setting or any other binary) I get the error ‘The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)’.

I’ve read something about MFC 2010 runtime. I reinstalled the x64 redist files (SP1), but still it does not work!

The error code 0xc000007b means STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_FORMAT.
Seems your installation got corrupted/changed somehow. Check the digital
signatures of the exe and dll files:

Hello,

We found the problem:

On Windows 7 (64-bit) the file 64-bit file 'msvcr100.dll' in the 'system32' folder is replaced by the 32-bit version.

To resolve the issue I downloaded the MS Visual C redist package (SP1) and first installed it on that machine.
Then I had to extracted the package manually (using Winzip) and lookd for the file 'vc_red.cab' which I then extracted again.
Between those extracted files, look for the file 'F_CENTRAL_msvcr100_x64' and rename it to 'msvcr100.dll'.
Then replace the file in the 'system32' by this file and everything works perfectly!

I'm not sure if this problem has been created by the Tortoise SVN installer.
