Hello everybody.

First of all sorry if i'm posting in wrong place.

In order to compile an open source s/w I was directed to install the TortoisesSVN. The next step was as given below:

"Open the parent folder to your new XYZ directory and right click on the XYZ directory in the list. Since TortoiseSVN is installed, you will now see "SVN Checkout" in the drop-down list. Select it. "

As mentioned above, I did right click on XYZ directory but there was not any "SVN Checkout" in the list but there were "SVN Update" and "SVN Commit...".

What I've tried to do is to right click on XYZ Directory -> TortoiseSVN -> Settings-> Context Menu. Under "Caascaded context menu" three options i.e Checkout, Update and Commit were checked but only Update and Commit are appearing on right click menu. I've tried to uncheck the Checkout option and restart the windows(vista) and then recheck it but failed. Any idea?

Sorry, if I couldn't explain my question.
Thank u for ur time

If you are getting Update and Commit options then the folder you are right clicking on is already a svn working copy. If you right click on your desktop you will should get the SVN Checkout... option. Or perhaps you already checked out an didn't realize it?
