Question about svn checkout for network drive

Hello,

 

This topic or question has already posted before, but please let me ask a question.  Now, I would like to use network drive for svn checkout.

However, the checkout from svn server to network drive is very slow and sometimes it was failed.  However, it was no issue when I checked out from svn server to local machine directly.  I tried to checkout from svn server to several network drives (mapping), the result was slow and failed.

I am wondering if network drive doesn’t support for svn checkout. 

 

Here is the summary.

 

1.    Network drive (from the Germany to Japan: Germany is svc server (repository URL) and Japan is checkout directory.

->the checkout is very slow and sometimes it was failed

 

2.    Network drive (the repository URL and checkout directory is the same country (Germany)

->the result was the same as above.

 

3.    Local drive (from Germany to Japan: Germany is svc server (repository URL) and Japan is local drive (direct attached)

No, do not do that.
