tortoise 1.9.x: "database is already locked"

Hi!

 

We use tortoise 1.9.7 with zend studio 13.6 on Windows10 x64 (a eclipse based php IDE) and experience „locking problems“ since the update to 1.9.x.

 

When working via Tortoise we recently experience problems.

 

• Take a svn working copy, import it into zend studio/eclipse
• Do a svn action via tortoise, e.g. merge 2 revision, do a commit or similar
• After the action succeeded eclipse will auto update itself as it recognized the changes in svn
• A eclipse process „update svn status“ starts and is working in the background
• In case you do another commit via tortoise svn in the meantime, you will get after a certain timeout a error like „database already locked“.

 

We see this kind of error only since updating tortoise svn to 1.9.x. from 1.8.x. using  1.8.12 doesnt show this problem.

We use zend studio and totoisesvn for years and it worked in the past with older versions, so actions at the same time with both tools were running smoothly.

I do have the same kind of problem:
Everything went well since many years up to the last update to Tortoise 1.9.7.
I now systematically get an error message : tortoise svn sqlite database is locked
The only solution found so far is to make a safe copy of the directory, delete the folder make a fresh check out and then overwrite the files from the safe copy.
Unfortunately this workaround worked only for ... 2 days!!!!
This is a pain because in the same folder, I do have about 10 GBytes of unversioned files, which takes a while to copy... so I cannot afford to do it every other day.
And I cannot manually copy each modified files by hand which would make SVN relatively useless... :(

I'm currently trying to downgrade Tortoise to my last well working copy (1.9.4)...
