Hi,

I downloaded and installed tortoiseSVN 1.6.4.16808-win32. When I use the function “diff with previous version” I got the message “Could not start external diff program! %1 is not a valid Win32 application”. I have verified the downloaded file and uninstalled/reinstalled tortoiseSVN and still see the same message. If you know what may be the problem, please let me know. I have spent a lot of time on this.

Thanks in advance

Check the settings for the diff tool:
Settings dialog->External Programs->Diff Viewer
If you don't have it set to "TortoiseMerge" but "External", make sure
it's configured correctly. Also click the "Advanced..." button and check
the diff tools for specific file extensions (you can try "Restore
defaults" there).

If that doesn't help:
* what file type did you run the "diff with previous version"?
* file or folder?
* does the file/folder even have a previous version?

Stefan

I had this happen, sounds like the input for the path to the external editor had changed and is no longer absolute. To fix this the path to your external editor can either be changed to absolute by putting it in quotes "C:\My External Editor\editor.exe" or the path can be changed to not have spaces C:\My_External_Editor\editor.exe
