Hello All,

I've tried to search for this question and wasn't able to come up with an answer. I'm hoping you could help

We are doing updates on Windows systems to our project folders. It seems that Tortoise only works when I give the Authenticated Users group write access to that directory. This part makes sense, since tortoise needs to write in order to update. my question is, can we give Tortoise a local or domain account to use instead of the Authenticated Users group? We are getting hit on our Nessus security scans because right now, we need to give Authenticated Users write access to folders which hold exe for services that are running. For security reasons, we cannot have that, but I am unable to get Tortoise to update files in that directory without the Authenticated Users group.

Is there anything we can do?

Thanks for your time

I'm not sure I follow your question but TortoiseSVN is running under the credentials of the current Windows user so however you give that user access to the project folder it should work properly.

Kind regards,
Daniel
