Hi.

This behaviour has been around as long as I can remember, but it bit me yesterday.
So then I wondered if it's a feature or a bug. I can't find it in the the docs.

I'm running:
TortoiseSVN 1.14.9, Build 29743 - 64 Bit , 2024/11/29 19:43:55
Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 24H2
Installed on ‎16/‎12/‎2024
OS build 26100.4946
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.197.0

Right-click->SVN Commit... to show the Commit dialog.
Change a file in the local repo.
Back to the Commit dialog and F5 to refresh the files.
Newly changed files show up, but their selection checkboxes are auto-checked.

Is there are way to turn this behaviour off? I would prefer that F5 would simply refresh files.

In Settings->Dialogs 2 in the Commit area, there is a "Select items automatically" checkbox, but for me this is unchecked.

In the Commit dialog itself there are some checkbox options, but none seem relevant.

I know the following will be rejected as feature-itis, but to me it would seem more logical to have a "Select newly changed files" (or something) button which refreshes and auto-selects newly changed files.

Anyway, just thought I'd ask.
Thanks a lot for TortoiseSVN. It's a great tool.

Cheers,
Nick.

This behavior is by design.
Because if you don't refresh and in the mean time other files than the ones that are shown get modified, those won't get committed. Only what you see is committed.
So when you do a refresh, then TSVN assumes that you want to include all changes since the commit dialog was started - otherwise why would you need to refresh?

There's no option to change that behavior. Sorry.
