I couldnt find an answer to this elsewhere, but I'm wondering if there
are no longer meant to be icons within the TortoiseSVN context menu in
explorer, or if this was a bug with my own install?

Overlay icons all work fine, just the context menu icons are no longer
there. I'd got used to the easily recognisable icons on my context
menu and sub menus, and was disappointed to not have any with the
latest revision.

Check in the registry (HKCU\Software\TortoiseSVN) if you have a
variable called "OwnerdrawnMenus" that's set to 0. If it's there set
it to 1 or 2.

Thankyou for the reply. After trying it and still not getting any
icons, I did a little searching, and found a few issues on it, but all
were fixed by your suggestion. Unfortunatley mine wasnt.

It's not a major drama. I'll cope :)

If you're on Win2k, you won't get any icons anymore. Sorry, but we had
to drop the icons for Win2k to make the menu work correctly on Vista.

That fixed it for me (on Vista). Why is this option hidden in the
registry? Anyway, afterwards the context menu (top level) looked a
little strange when right-clicking on a Working Directory, with the
icons taking twice the required space, in which some of them were left-
aligned, some right-aligned. The solution was to disable IZArc's
context menu entries, then it looked as expected. Just FYI.

The latest version of IZArc doesn't show that issue, at least not on my
machine which I just tested.

Either configure it to not show icons, or to show all entries in the
submenu.
You can see the problem of ownerdrawn menus on Vista yourself: if IZArc
shows icons in the top menu, it's rendered without the Vista style, but
the TSVN submenu is still renderd with the Vista style.

Vista reverts back to non-styled menus if one shell extension uses
ownerdrawn menus but does not draw them with the new mechanism for it
which Vista provides to keep styling active.

This is my second post, but I wanted to say again to the developers how grateful I am for TortoiseSVN. Thanks!

I may have posted this in the wrong location:
http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/ds/viewMessage.do?dsForumId=4061&dsMessageId=2872509

I hope it is okay to post a response in two different threads, but they are related.

As you can see in the link above, I am having a very similar context menu icon display problem. The display problem is with TortoiseHg installed on a machine that also has TortoiseSVN installed.

The icons display fine if only TortoiseHg is installed, but they shift to the left out of view if TortoiseSVN is also installed. The order of installation does not matter. My system is Windows XP SP3.

Please let me know if this should be elevated to the issue tracker on Google code.

Thanks!

please don't.
This is a bug in THg and not in TSVN. So an entry in our issue tracker
would do no good.
