Hello,

My team and I are often confused by what we found to be a weird behavior of TortoiseSVN.
When you revert a file that you previously locked, you silently keep the lock and has to remember that you have to unlock it manually afterwards. I don't think there was a single time where this behavior was what I wanted to do, so I was wondering, can anyone advocate for this behavior ?

I see how silently unlocking a file on a revert operation could be a strong UX issue, but I believe that having a checkbox at the bottom of the revert window, and being able to define its default state in the settings would be a great improvement in terms of team workflow.

Does anyone have thoughts about this ?

PS: I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask for this, if not please feel free to tell me so.

Have you considered using the cleanup option rather than the revert option? That would allow the selection to revert the files and break the locks.

Hope this helps.

Hi Bruce, thanks for your reply.

The problem with cleanup is that, unlike with revert, as far as I know you cannot cleanup just a single file, which is something we do a lot.
