How to edit PDF files via repo browser

Hello everyone, i'm no expert in Tortoise and i'm in desperate need of assistance

I want to edit files via Repo Browser, and then commit them "automatically" without having the need to have that file in my folder. I can do this with word and excel files without a problem, i edit the files and then they are committed without the need of having them in my PC.

Thing is, i can't do this with PDF files. Sometimes i need to add comments to PDF's, but in order to do this i need to have every single one i want to edit in my PC. I'm almost 100% sure that this didn't happen with PDF files. The issue is that it doesnt seem to edit the file in the SVN folder, but instead creates a copy of it (located in temp folders), which i have to manually commit to the desired SVN folder.

I hope everyone understood my issue, i'm available to further explain it. Any help provided would be awesome.

To be clear, the repo browser does put it on your computer locally in a temp folder, so a normal checkout is just automated for you. I think you have to tell tortoise what file extensions you want to be tied to what editors so it knows what program to use. In lieu of that I have gone into the temp folder when I was in a bind especially when it gets stuck and my edits don’t get committed and I am afraid they are going to be lost. I stopped using it and only allow others to use it if they almost never use SVN, also because it is a little “too” easy to do stuff in the repo browser like moves. 

 Basically it is probably easier to do a large checkout and use working copies on your computer.
