Hi,

I have been trying to access the repository through repo browser, but the screen keeps freezing every time. I get message "please wait while repository browser is initializing".

Could anyone suggest any resolution for the problem as the Repo Browser screen keeps freezing and I am not able to work further. It is hampering my work.

Hope to get solution asap.

After analyzing the backend, it is told to us that due to the brute force attack we are facing this issue. Could you please help us here to resolve such issues while using Repo Browser and/ or Merge option as we are stuck here and not getting any response at all.

Please respond asap.

this is a mailing list of an open source project, where the people don't get paid. So "asap" won't work.

that said: you already know where the problem is. Your backend detects a brute force attack and stops responding. But using the repo browser is not a brute force attack, so change your backend settings accordingly.
We won't change the repo browser just for you.

however: you can configure some settings in TSVN to reduce the connections in the repo browser in the settings dialog->Dialogs 3.
If you uncheck all the boxes in the group "Repository Browser" then you reduce the connections a lot.

Hi,

@Stefan: I apologise, if it comes out wrong. I wrote ASAP, just because I am in need and that was just a request.

And thank you so much for your reply.  I tried changing the repo browser settings as you mentioned but still facing the same issue.

could you please guide me through or give an idea that what all settings needs to be changed at the backend.

Since I have no idea what kind of protection against attacks you have installed, I'm sorry I can't help you here. You or your IT guys set this up, so you have to figure out how to properly configure it.

thanks. but we did not set up anything extra which may cause this kind of behaviour of repo browser.  Which is why I could not able to figure out the problem. We have set it up two times using different settings each time, but facing the same issue in getting the bigger files. if the file size smaller then it is working fine.

Could you please help us in figuring out this issue.?

you mentioned "it is told to us that due to the brute force attack we are facing this issue". So to detect an attack, you must have installed some tool and that tool is then blocking further requests.

We are using NIPS(McAfee) to monitor unwanted traffic and log .
I,e We are  using DDOS(F5) & NIPS appliance for attack monitoring.

But, I am not sure whether any of these tools can be the reason of this issue. please help me to understand the scenario here.

Yes, they are. Why else would they detect an attack? They detect an attack and block further connections, which is why the repo browser stops and hangs.
