Hello,

I'm having a very bad time trying to figure out why I keep getting this error when using TSVN?
I have upgraded the Subversion repository from scratch in about every different fashion that I have just about read in forums and such to make this work, but the end result is consistently the same. When I try 'checkout' on a new empty folder or 'update' on an existing SVN folder through TSVN, I keep getting "Error: Expected format '3' of repository; found format '5'".
I did a 'svnadmin --version' and it shows it is 1.6.11.

After installing SVN, I have attempted all of the following after restoring to the original files for 1.3.2 every time:

1) 'svnadmin update' after installing over the executable files and rebooting.

2) 'svnadmin dump' using version 1.3.2 and 'svnadmin load' after installing 1.6.11 with collabnet installer version.

3) uninstalled TSVN (latest version for 1.6.11), rebooted, and installed TSVN (latest version for 1.6.11). This fixed the icon image overlay problem, but I still receive the error.

I don't know what else to do as I've been working on this for the past two days and trying to get it up and running for monday morning.
Any assist would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Ryan

It expects an older version than there is, so you have an older version
of svn trying to access a newer version of the repository.

If you're not using file:/// to access the repository, you have to
upgrade your version of svn on the server.

OK, I figured out the issue.

The problem was that I needed to install the svnserve.exe service. It was not selected during the Collabnet install and therefore it was using the older svnservice version.

I hope this helps you on your journey to upgrading to your latest version of Subversion.

Regards,
Ryan

Steve,

Thank you for your response. I didn't see your response in here as I did not refresh my page before giving my conclusion, sorry. Your response is the right conclusion.

I, too, found this to be the answer after finding a forum that had suggested the same what you mentioned.

Thank You,
Ryan
