Hi,

I have installed Tortoise SVN Version 1.6. I use proxy server to connect to the URL for checkout. I have given the correct proxy details in Settings - Network. The checkout worked for just once and after that its failing every time throwing the following error message :

"Could not authenticate to proxy server could not parse challenge."

All my other team members use the same settings and its working for them. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling other versions, but no use. Please help me!!!

Thanks
Sreenivas

Is there a reason why you don't want to upgrade to a newer version? TSVN 1.6 is several years old. Sometimes problems are already fixed in newer versions.

Also, install the command line client and see if it works from the command line. If the command line gives the same result, then it's likely a problem with SVN rather than TortoiseSVN.

Hi,

I had installed other versions and tried. I tried using version 1.7.11 and the issue exists. What I am wondering is, it is working fine for others in my team (they use 1.6). Is there any config changes which I have to do?

Thanks
Sreenivas

I installed 1.3.5 version and everything is working fine. Higher versions have problems connecting through proxy server. I tried 1.6, 1.7 and 1.8 also...some or the other issues. Still don't know what's the cause. Any help will be appreciated.

You were asked whether the command-line tools also have the issue. If
so, then there is nothing that the TortoiseSVN developers can do about
your issue, and you need to contact the "svn users" list instead,
since they maintain both the command-line tools and the library that
TSVN uses to execute SVN commands.
